Alubond Facades Made of Aluminum Composite Panels

Alubond is made of two aluminum sheets, each 0.5 mm thick, bonded by a polyethylene core into panels 3, 4, 6 and 8 mm thick. The panels are highly weather resistant, so the facade needs no special maintenance. The classic metallic gray is chosen most often, but every color in the RAL chart is possible.

Alubond is a cassette facade. It is built from aluminum sheets on both sides of a polyethylene (PE) core, joined into a sandwich panel by continuous coextrusion. That is why it can clad flat, warped, rounded, horizontal, vertical and other surfaces.

The panels are shaped so that the sides overlap by 3 cm. This forms cassettes with an air space, which are fixed with angle brackets to aluminum supports. The load-bearing aluminum substructure is attached to the existing concrete wall and carries all loads from the panels to the wall. The panels can be thin because their primary function is to transfer external loads to the substructure.

Factory panels are cut, bent and joined into cassettes of different sizes and shapes. They are worked by cutting, grooving, drilling, punching, engraving, arc bending and angle bending.

Alubond is 1.6 times lighter than aluminum and 3.4 times lighter than steel. It meets fire class B2 under DIN 4102.
