Kömmerling 88: a window for the passive house
Kömmerling 88 is a PVC system with an 88 mm depth, seven chambers and a center seal. The standard version already reaches a Uf value of 0.95 W/(m²K).
Kömmerling 88 is the deepest PVC system in our range. Seven chambers and a center gasket give a Uf value of 0.95 W/(m²K) in the standard version, without extra inserts.
With 48 mm glazing and a warm-edge spacer, the whole window reaches a Uw value of 0.79 W/(m²K). That meets the ift WA-15/2 guideline for passive houses.
The profile is flat and narrow, so more light and solar heat come through the glass. Glazing can be up to 56 mm thick, and heavy glass is carried by a central reinforcement.
We used to offer this class of window under the Trocal brand, which today operates as Kömmerling.

The base profile is the same. The versions differ in cladding, sash and extra functions.

AluClip
Kömmerling 88 AluClip
Flat aluminum cladding outside in a color of your choice, white PVC inside. Glazing up to 56 mm.
AluClip Plus
Kömmerling 88 AluClip Plus
Aluminum outside, color of your choice inside too. Six chambers, Uf down to 1.1 W/(m²K), for windows and doors.
AluClip Pro
Kömmerling 88 AluClip Pro
The aluminum cladding carries the sash statics, so no steel reinforcement is needed in the sash.

An extra aluminum sash with glazing and sun protection between the panes.
Passive house
Kömmerling 88 for the passive house
With Ug 0.6 W/(m²K) glazing the window reaches Uw 0.79 W/(m²K), and 0.82 W/(m²K) installed.

A vent hidden in the frame keeps bringing in fresh air and reduces humidity, even when the window is closed.
